The representative government stamp celebrated the separation of the Colony of Victoria
from the Colony of NSW. It was not, at that time, responsible government. The dual design
is nebulous and rather silly.
The medallions feature E.H. Hargraves pioneer in gold discovery, and C.J. Latrobe, 1st
Governor of Victoria.
