Designs:

5d: Edgeworth David, Douglas Mawson, and Alastair Forbes McKay at South (magnetic) pole in 1909.

8d: ANARE Weasel near Mt Henderson base.

1/-: Dog Sled and tem with Ytterskpera Iceberg in background.

2/3d: Emperor Penguins.

The overprinted surcharges were caused by a sudden postal increase which also affected the Norfolk Island Post office issue.
